Door to Door Organics

As some of you know I have recently started "fat school" AKA Weight Watchers a few weeks ago.  So far, so good, I have lost a total of 12 pounds and hopefully still losing ( I haven't weighed in this week yet.) Weight Watchers has changed the entire program since I last did it three years ago.  One of the perks is that ALL fruits and most all veggies are ZERO points, therefore I can eat as much as I want and not count it in my daily point allowance.  At my last meeting there was a website listed on the whiteboard https://michigan.doortodoororganics.com/, it looked interesting, so I went home and looked it up.
About Door to Door Organics (From their website)
  • Door to Door Organics is Michigan's delivery service of fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and select groceries.
  • Each week of the year they deliver the freshest organic goodies directly to your door at competitive prices. (Most places has FREE delivery, YES FREE!!!)
  • They have close relationships with a number of Michigan farmers and work around the clock to ensure that they bring locally grown produce whenever it's available.
  • They always strive to ensure that they bring you the freshest, organic produce from only the most reputable of farms.
  • Door to Door Organics focuses on local produce when possible because it is fresher, requires less fuel to transport and we get to support our neighbors, making it easier for them to support us.

I checked out their website, and also had a $10 off coupon so I thought I would give it a try.  I choose the Bitty Mix, which is the smallest box available with a mixture of fresh fruits and veggies in it for a very reasonable cost ($23.00-$10.00= $13.00). Each delivery (Mine is every other Tuesday) they give you a selection of fruits and veggies depending on what is in season.  If there is something in the weekly box that you don't like, you can swap it out for other items at no cost.  On their blog they also include a recipe that you can make with the items from your weekly box as well as information about specific items, like learning everything you need to know about asparagus!!

So we just got our first box moments ago and I, along with Kate was soooooosuper excited!
Our first box of goodies came mid afternoon, just waiting on by our front door.

Kate opened it to a huge head of fresh lettuce!

Three Roma Tomatoes

1 bag of celery, 1 cucumber, 2 Gala Apples, 2 Vidalia Onions, 1 avocado, 1 box of blueberries,

and  two bananas!  YUM

Everything was very fresh and smelled great!  I am gonna make guacamole with the avocado, tomatoes and onions for a bedtime snack and use celery instead of chips to dip with.

Door to Door Organics is available in more then just Michigan, so give em a try!
