Yippee a Snow Day!

I just love snow days!  There is just something fun and exciting about knowing that there is no school and you really can't or shouldn't travel anywhere.  We were snuggled into our warm little house as the Blizzard of 2011 struck.  Kate kept asking "Is the snow bug here yet?  When is the snow bug gonna get here?" meaning the blizzard.  Of course she had heard Mike and I talking about the upcoming storm.  We hadn't really talked that bad about it, but whatever we said did make Kate a little nervous. She didn't end up falling asleep until around midnight, my little night owl!  By the time Kate finally fell asleep and I was just sleeping hard, Nick woke up and stayed up for about 2 hours before I could get him back to sleep, rough night for Mama Patty.

Per usual, both kids woke-up at 6:53am.  I was still extremely tired from the night and wanted to continue sleeping, but I wasn't that lucky.  I got up and stumbled my way out to the livingroom while both kids requested their normal morning must haves.  Nick wanted some "c-real peas" (cereal please)  and Kate wanted her morning milk.  Of course, the first thing I wanted to do was look out the window to see if the blizzard really came, so the three of us looked out the window and saw all of the beautiful blowing snow.  Sure enough, the blizzard had hit, kinda.  I think they were projecting much more snow then what we actually got, but we did get enough to have a snow day, and maybe enough to have 2 snow days, we will see tomorrow!

If you were trapped in because of the snow what did you do?  Come back later tonight to find out what we did this morning!

  1. We have been inside for two days now. I think that my oldest daughter will have school tomorrow. Yesterday was a laid back, enjoy the snow day kind of day. Today, we made some origami (spelling), did some coloring projects and some Valentine's projects. I can't wait to see what you guys did!

  2. MSU actually cancelled all classes for the first time in decades! I preceded to lock myself out of my friend's apartment that I am staying at while she is out of town. Of course, the neighbor didn't have a spare key and the land lord was snowed it. Needless to say, I had to have a locksmith come out and pick the lock... what fun!

  3. I was wondering if you would have to drive to St. Johns to day.

  4. We had all of 1-2" of snow and 8F temperature here. And the city shut down! That included electric rotating blackouts because some of the machinery in the generating plants froze. Can you believe that! And, the border closed temporarly,so, no work for me.
